Police warn against opening the door for strangers late at night
Pueblo Police warn you should never open your door to a stranger in the middle of the night.
The police department says that during a recent community crime prevention seminar, officers heard from residents who have received late night knocks on their door by an unknown woman. The woman said she needed a phone or a ride. One person said that he peeked out his window to see the woman on the porch and a car with men inside it down the street.
Police say another concerned citizen provided the surveillance video in this article. It shows an unknown woman nervously ringing a doorbell in the Belmont area and then leaving when she realizes she is being recorded.
Police say that if you receive a late night visit from a stranger, you should call the police. If you can, speak to the person through the locked door or storm door to let them know that police are on the way to assist them.
