Driver killed in El Paso County crash identified
The Colorado State Patrol says a man died in a crash at the intersection of Highway 24 and Highway 94 in El Paso County Wednesday morning.
The crash happened just east of Colorado Springs and was reported at 9:10 a.m.
Rolland Bivens, 83, of Colorado Springs was killed. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Troopers say Bivens was driving a 2008 Hyundai Sonata northbound on Highway 94 when he ran a red light and crashed into a 2011 GMC Acadia that was westbound on Highway 24.
The driver of the GMC was identified as Ashlyn Malecki, 28, of Colorado Springs. Malecki was treated for minor injuries at Memorial Hospital.
