Woman punches mailman in Colorado Springs

A woman says she punched her mailman and her husband hit him on the head with a rock.

Witnesses say it looked like a vicious attack, but the Colorado Springs couple say the fight was provoked.

“I saw both the man and the woman attacking the mailman. They slammed him into his truck. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was insane,” said Erika Marston, who witnessed the fight.

Priscilla Green said it’s all true.

“It was almost an animalistic moment,” Green said.

But Green says she didn’t react until the mailman pepper-sprayed her.

“He could have pulled out a gun for all I know. My husband and I could be here dead for arguing with a mailman, how pathetic is that?” Green said.

Green admits that the fight got out of control. She says her husband, Warrick Green, hit the mailman on the head with a rock.

Warrick Green was arrested for second degree assault, a felony charge.

Priscilla Green told KRDO that the fight didn’t happen out of the blue.

“He kneed my dog then he said he was going to mess him up,” said Green.

Green said that incident happened in March when her son was walking their dog.

According to apartment complex management, this isn’t the first complaint about the mailman.

The post office is investigating the incident.

The couple involved in the fight are being evicted from their apartment.

Police can’t comment because the investigation is ongoing.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Michelle Court, near E. Fountain Boulevard and S. Academy Boulevard.
