Fire investigation at Colorado Springs apartment complex

people arte out of their homes tonight.. after massive fire at a colorado springs apartment complex. it took firefighters several hours to put out the fire.. at the quail cove apartments. that’s near quail lake on the city’s southwest side. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller was the first reporter on the scene and he’s live there tonight with new information. james, investigators say they trying to determine what started the fire. the roof of the building has collapsed and the people who live inside are reeling from this fire. flames shooting through the roof of a quail cove apartment building. victim sot: i’m stressed right now. scared, stressed. i’m happy my roommate wasn’t in there but it’s really scary. ashley hosey lives inside this burning apartment… and rushed home when she found out it caught fire. sot: the one that’s starting collapse is our building. we’re on the middle floor. i was just waiting for it to go all the way through. the building’s roof partially collapsed – the chimney on fire. neighbors packed up belongings quickly, afraid the flames would spread. nick cimino: grabbed my dog, my wallet, keys, phone that was about it. walked outside, fireman gave me a leash for my dog. standup: investigators say they contained the damage to that building, but it was still bad. sot: probably all twelve in that building, will not be able to return to that building for quite some time. when fire crews arrived, they found smoke billowing from a room on the second floor… five units are ruined. three hours later the fire was finally contained… 2:45 we’re all just trying to be there for each other, trying to stay positive – as they focus on recovery. one firefighter was hurt – suffering from smoke exhaustion, he’s expected to be okay. the people who live inside were not hurt, we’re told a couple of dogs were rescued, though two cats are still missing. investigators say it’s too early to determine a cause.live in colorado springs, gm, nc 13. new tonight, firefighters at
