Colorado GOP Senate hopefuls make their pitches to voters

Eight Colorado Republicans seeking to challenge Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet in November are holding their first televised debate.

The candidates make their cases at a Tuesday evening forum hosted by Denver’s KUSA-TV.

The debate precedes Saturday’s state GOP assembly in Colorado Springs, where anyone getting at least 30 percent of delegate votes wins a spot on the June 28 primary ballot.

Several candidates aim to qualify for the primary by collecting signatures from each of Colorado’s seven congressional districts.

Appearing Tuesday are state Sen. Tim Neville of Littleton, former state Rep. Jon Keyser of Morrison, Colorado Springs businessman Robert Blaha and former Colorado State athletic director Jack Graham.

Others include former Aurora city councilman Ryan Frazier, El Paso County Commissioners Darryl Glenn and Peg Littleton and businessman Jerry Natividad.
