Driver extricated after bad accident

Colorado Springs Fire Department says one person was extricated from a car after a bad accident early Sunday morning. The driver was transported to Memorial Hospital and their condition is unknown.

It happened near East Cheyenne Road and Norwood Avenue on the southwest side of Colorado Springs. Police say the driver hit a light pole.

Springs police arrest the driver who’s facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

There’s still no word on what caused the crash of if any other people were involved. The fire department released photos of the aftermath on Twitter early Sunday morning.
