Denver marijuana dispensary wants to name Mile High Stadium

It’s not an April Fool’s joke.

A Denver marijuana dispensary is interested in purchasing the naming rights to Mile High Stadium.

The owners of “Native Roots” say they are ready to make a multi-million dollar commitment if the contract with Sports Authority ends.

Native Roots released a preliminary rendering of possible new branding for the stadium.

The company acknowledged the poor timing of their announcement on April Fool’s day, but insisted that they are serious about the proposal.

“Native roots was born and raised in Colorado,” said Rhett Jordan, a founding partner of Native Roots. “We are the natural candidate for this. I don’t see cannabis going anywhere but up right now so we are prepared for that.”

Native Roots is one of Colorado’s largest marijuana dispensaries.

The company has expanded from 1 to 14 stores over the past year.

Sports Authority currently holds the naming rights to Mile High Stadium, but many have speculated the company will release their name after dealing with bankruptcy earlier this year.

The Denver Broncos issued a statement saying the sports authority has been a great partner for many years and that they certainly hope to keep it that way.
