Truck driver learns embarrassing lesson about heeding low clearance signs

A too-tall semi truck got wedged under a bridge in Colorado Springs Thursday morning.

The stuck truck snarled traffic on eastbound Uintah Street between I-25 and Glen Avenue.

Signs warning of 12′-6″ clearance are posted on the bridge, but the driver apparently either didn’t see them or didn’t know how tall his trailer was.

The truck was eventually freed from the tight spot. We don’t know yet whether the driver will face charges.
