Juvenile accused of starting Yoder grass fire

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has released the cause of a fire that burned about 100 acres in Yoder Sunday.

The sheriff’s office says a juvenile was cited for playing with matches.

The fire burned in the 5100 block of S. Yoder Road, south of Highway 94.

No structures were damage. The El Paso County sheriff’s office initially said there were mandatory evacuations, but the Tri-County fire chief told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that no one was evacuated.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes, the fire chief said.
