Former Colorado mill dog who brought awareness to puppy mills dies

A Colorado mill dog who helped bring awareness to the issue of puppy mills died Sunday.

Harley won the 2015 American Humane Association Hero Dog Award in September. He also helped with the El Paso County-based National Mill Dog Rescue.

Harley even went to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness about puppy mills.

Through a friend, Harley’s owners posted on Facebook that Harley quote, “..went on his own terms. He chose his moment, he did not suffer, and he was not in pain.”
