College entrepreneurs share stories to educate others
Entrepreneurs in Colorado Springs shared their stories Wednesday to educate other entrepreneurs.
Pikes Peak Community College hosted One Million Cups, a weekly national program designed to educate, engage and connect entrepreneurs. Students from PPCC and UCCS presented their business start-up ideas to about 100 people, asked questions and provided feedback. The audience consisted of peers, mentors, teachers, students, entrepreneurs and business owners in the community.
One Million Cups isn’t about pitching an idea, they’re not trying to sell the audience. we really want to focus on the educational part of entrepreneurship.
“One Million Cups isn’t about pitching an idea, they’re not trying to sell the audience,” One Million Cups community member and UCCS student Sam Elliott said. “We really want to focus on the educational part of entrepreneurship.”
One of the presenters was PPCC student Israel Lucero. His company, Bahuka, pairs up students with teachers based on the way students learn.
“A lot of people say feedback’s important, but it is very important, because it helps you create a path, and follow that path, the right path, because you want to talk to as many people as possible. You want to talk to talk to people in the community and see, ‘Is this something worth pursuing?'” Lucero said.
