Wyoming continues to ponder regulation of marijuana edibles
Wyoming lawmakers are continuing to ponder how to regulate marijuana brownies and other foods and beverages containing the drug that law enforcement officials say are increasingly being brought into the state.
A bill that sought to make it a felony to possess more than 3 ounces of marijuana edibles died in the Wyoming legislative session that ended early this month. Lawmakers deadlocked on how to measure the concentration and potency of marijuana or its active ingredient in marijuana edibles.
Wyoming law enforcement officials and prosecutors say the state needs to clarify the law on marijuana edibles because more are showing up since neighboring Colorado began recreational marijuana sales in 2014.
A Wyoming legislative committee is set to consider the issue again before the next legislative session early next year.
