WWII vet shares story with students

A World War II veteran shared his inspiring story with students at East High School in Pueblo Tuesday.

Ernie DeGraw flew B-24s during World War II, B-26s in Korea and A-1Es in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1966.

“I hope they take one thing away. You are who you are. Get yourself an education, make the best of it and then find a way to give back to your community,” DeGraw said.

The 92-year-old will soon be heading to Europe to help with a documentary about the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
