Investigators say home invader shot and killed in Huerfano County
The Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office says one home invader is dead and two others are on the loose following an incident west of Walsenburg Monday evening.
The home invasion was reported on County Road 520 between Walsenburg and Gardner between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Investigators say three people broke into the home. The homeowner shot and killed one of them. The homeowner was also shot but his injuries are not life threatening.
The other two people involved got away. No information about those people is available.
The sheriff’s office says the home was targeted for a specific reason, but would not elaborate.
