Chaffee County music festival approved
Chaffee County officials have approved a special events permit for a music festival near Buena Vista expected to bring out 20,000 people.
The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/1QJ1mKK ) the decision by county commissioners Tuesday comes after they heard traffic and noise concerns from residents near the Madison House Presents’ festival site. Commissioners agreed to cut the four-day event’s closing times by one hour.
The festival is being held Aug. 4-7 on a 274-acre ranch owned by Jed Selby.
Selby has been in discussions with Boulder-based Madison House Presents and AEG Live about creating an annual event.
No bands have been announced for the August festival. But Chaffee County administrator Robert Christiansen says the festival has been looking at musical artists that would attract a wide variety of interests and ages.
