WATCH: Friends react to shooting victim’s death

a family is in shock tonight after a deadly shooting in pueblo. 26-year-old devin clark was killed in the shooting, two others are in serious but stable condition. it happened outside of a bar at 8th and main overnight in downtown pueblo. following the murder.. the district attorney is calling out city leaders.. and says now it’s time for the voters act. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller is live at police headquarters. greg, strong reaction to more violence in pueblo. james and heather, devin clark’s family didn’t want to go on camera, but said he was a young man who lit up any room he was in and had a bright future ahead of him. tonight they and so many others are calling for the violence to end. sot: he could make anybody happy devin clark – friends call him a role model, a life lost too soon. i kept, repeatedly asking myself, why? why? why? clark was outside the iron horse bar, when shots rang out just after one a.m. bullet holes are still visible outside of the bar. he was one of three shot, the two others taken to the hospital. everybody’s families are tired of it. they’re tired of the hurt and they’re tired of the pain. friends like dylan boggs say the violence has to stop. 2:27 i’m going to encourage kids, do what i’ve gotta do. someone else calling for change – the pueblo county d-a. jeff chostner is pushing a ballot initiative to add more cops to the force, saying in a statement to council – this must come to an end and i need your help. your primary duty is to public safety and that is being sorely tested right now. standup: this weekend’s shooting comes after a promise by pueblo police and city council to put more cops on the streets. nawrocki: it’s terrible. council president steve nawrocki says 20 more cops are slated to join the force… – but it will take time. sot: we have to go through civil service, academy, it’s all vertical in terms of how you bring people in, you can’t start them off somewhere, they have to go through this process. until then – sot: it’s going to take the community to step up and saying we’re done. friends and family are left healing, after another homicide. the d-a says he plans to introduce that ballot measure on law enforcement next month before the city council. live in pueblo, gm, nc 13.
