Suspect in custody after barricade situation in El Paso County

One person is in custody following a barricade situation in El Paso County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

SWAT officers and the bomb squad were called to a house near Colonial Drive and Colonial Lane around 2 a.m. Friday.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly before 4 a.m.

He was identified asDamon Brimer.

Sheriff’s deputies say Brimer was suspected of felony kidnapping, menacing and assault with a deadly weapon. He may face additional charges as well.

Several neighbors were evacuated as a precaution during the incident. They have allowed to return to their homes after Brimer was arrested.
