Politics and Marriage: A house divided
Marriage and politics sometimes just don’t mix.
The Brush’s are two devoted Democrats in Colorado Springs who will support different candidates on caucus night.
Elaine is a huge Hillary Clinton supporter. Her husband Jack is a Bernie Sanders fan.
Jack thinks if Sanders doesn’t win the Democratic nomination, he would consider crossing over and voting for Donald Trump if Trump is the GOP nominee.
“Oh, he said that in jest because that will not happen, that will not happen in this household,” Elaine said with conviction. “That might be a real dividing point.
“Elaine, is, looks like she’s doctrinaire and has her mind made up, not necessarily,” Jack said of his wife. “She just likes Hillary. But, she has a heart and knows the way things should be.”
Before the couple married 12 years ago, Jack was a registered Republican. Elaine said she helped her husband see the light.
