I-25/Cimarron Interchange Project moving to next phase

The Colorado Department of Transportation has nearly completed Phase Zero of the I-25/Cimarron Interchange Project and is about to begin Phase One.

The project will change the structure of the intersection into a diamond shape, add new bridge structures and improve highway alignment and ramps. The work began nine months ago.

“The work we have been working on has been offline, on the west side of the interstate, and it’s been doing a lot of the underground work such as utilities and drainage and some of the embankment work on the west side of the highway,” Project Director Dave Watt said.

Phase one is scheduled to begin in a few weeks. Drivers will see traffic switches and a reduction of the speed limit to 55 miles per hour.
