Temperatures dive and roads start to freeze

fall.. the morning drive the biggest worry as temperatures drop. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller shows us the melt.. before the freeze. he continues our team coverage live from woodland park. greg, winter is back. yeah james, it’s still coming down. but as you can see, it’s melting as it his the road – thanks to the warm weather recently. the question is: will it keep drivers from venturing out? nats – we knew the sunny skies and 60- degree days couldn’t last. 18:57 i knew it was coming back. and those who live in the city above the clouds – knew they would be the one’s to get it the worst. 24:33 i come in 25 miles one way, been doing it for 20 years – 50 miles a day. 24:26 i used to drive in blizzards but when there’s a warning now, i stay home from work. trucks equipped with plows – sit – ready to move. greg: all this wet pavement is good for now, but as the night goes on they will freeze. road crews say they will be watching and activate when needed. in another trouble spot, monument, snow covers the grass and bushes … but isn’t worrisome yet. sot:the worst i’ve seen? tunneling out of the house. so whatever this is going to throw at me, i’m not worried. bundle up and we’re good. and as the flakes fall, there is a silver lining. because i want the moisture, yes, i’d still prefer rain though, i’m not gonna lie. if only driver’s heed this man’s advice: sot: don’t drive like maniacs. people overdirve, drive too fast, and just… stay in the chicken lane. the good news is we haven’t had reports of major crashes along interstates or highways so far tonight. live in wp, gm, nc 13. and take a
