Water floods Austin Bluffs Parkway after truck hits fire hydrant

A man made flash flood snarled traffic on Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs Monday morning.

Colorado Springs Utilities initially responded to a report of a water main break on Austin Bluffs near Barnes Road.

After investigating, it was determined that there was not a water main break. Instead, utilities says that a truck may have hit a fire hydrant.

The Colorado Springs Traffic Management Center said the right thru lane and right turn lane of northbound Austin Bluffs were blocked, as were the right and center lanes of eastbound Barnes.
