about

Security, Widefield and Fountain are situated south of Colorado Springs and east of Fort Carson in an area known as the Fountain Valley. Approximately 60,000 people call the area home.

Fountain was incorporated in 1900. Security and Widefield, commonly referred to as Security-Widefield, are unincorporated suburban communities that were developed beginning in the 1950’s.

Fountain is served by its own municipal utilities department. The Security Water and Sanitation District and the Widefield Water and Sanitation district provide water to the areas not served by Fountain Utilities.

Fountain Utilities and the Security-Water and Sanitation District will both get water from the Southern Delivery System upon the project’s completion. Click here for more information.
