Tree topples onto Canon City home

A homeowner in Canon City is cleaning up after a tree fell in front of his home.

It’s one of several downed trees that were reported in the area Thursday.

Cleanup crews hoped to have it removed by Friday morning.

The homeowner, a retired pastor, has lived in the house for 15 years.

He thinks there may have been a little divine intervention at play.

“The closer we look at it, the damage appears to be minimal. There’s not even a broken window yet. I can’t tell but I think we got off pretty lucky,” said David Freehling.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.
