Man sentenced for molesting little girls

A man who molested two little girls will spend at least the next nine years behind bars.

Christopher Rader was sentenced Wednesday morning to nine years to life in prison and 20 years to life on probation. He will get 204 days credit for time served and will undergo an evaluation to determine if he should be designated a sexually violent predator.

Rader was arrested on July 29, 2015. The crimes took place while the girls were in his care. He was a trusted family friend.

In court Wednesday, the victims’ mother said her oldest daughter, who was then 11, is depressed and struggling to be a kid. She said her youngest daughter, who was then 4, was unable to start kindergarten because of what happened to her.

“It’s been really, really hard, it’s been a really emotional thing, my daughters are both in therapy and will be in therapy ongoing until who knows when. he did a lot of damage.

The girls’ mother said she agreed to a plea deal in the case to spare her daughters the stress of a trial.
