open. emotional testimony.. from michelle wilkins, the colorado woman who was attacked and had her baby cut from her womb .. she testified today against dynel lane, her alleged attacker. lane faces charges of attempted murder and unlawful termination of a pregnancy. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller joins us now.. with new information on the case tonight. today in court, michelle wilkins described in detail what happened in the attack, and how she fought to survive. michelle wilkins takes the stand… natsd-wilkins: “she picked it up and smashed it over my head. that’s when i held up my hand and said i don’t know why you’re doing this, i love you. and she said if you love me, you’ll let me do this. then she stabbed my neck.” reliving every second of her gruesome attack last march. her alleged attacker, dynel lane pleading not guilty. after she broke the bottle over my head and stabbed me, and she was trying to choke me. i remember thinking of aurora and felt like i wanted to survive for her.” despite her desperate fight, she says lane got the upper hand. natsd- wilkins: “she pinned down my arms with her legs and was trying to choke me. she bore down with her hand on my windpipe and everything went black.” natsd- attorney : “so you woke up on the floor?” natsd- wilkins: ” . i tried to move but felt intense pain in my stomach. looked down and saw big cut across my stomach.” that’s when she called 9-1-1. 911 call sot – please, i’m downstairs. but it would be hours before she realized what she’d lost. natsd-attorney : “when did you first realize you were no longer pregnant?” natsd-wilkins: “it was not until the next day in the hospital and i woke up.” a nightmare she has to live all over again … to get justice for baby aurora. lane’s attorney says lane did not plan the attack but that she was “impulsive and reckless and didn’t intend to kill the victim. prosecutors plans to call about 20 witnesses before resting by monday. gm, nc 13. a man
