Car hits home in Pueblo West

According to the Pueblo West Fire Chief Brian Caserta, a new driver was driving south on South McCullugh Boulevard, turning on to South Quantico Drive when she jumped the curb and drove into the house.

Caserta said the driver and the passenger were not hurt.

There were two people inside the house when the crash occurred, one was upstairs and one was in the room the car crashed into, said Caserta.

Caserta said he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, but without any major injuries.

“After review of the structure and discussion with the Pueblo Regional Building Department, it was determined that it would be safer to shore up that corner of the house before the vehicle was moved,” said Caserta.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department reported the driver was charged with careless driving.
