Caon City man accused of collecting money for legos, failing to deliver
The Caon City Police Department says it has arrested a man who is accused of advertising Legos online, collecting money for them and then failing to deliver the toy building bricks.
William Murray was arrested on Valentine’s Day.
Police say Murray advertised Star Wars Lego sets on various websites at different prices. They say once he received the money, Murray would cut off contact with his alleged victims, who never received the Legos they ordered.
Police say there are 16 potential victims across the United States and internationally in this case, and that altogether, around $14,000 was stolen.
The Caon City Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Athena Garcia at 719-276-5245 or email algarcia@canoncity.org.
