Sanders supporters rally in Colorado Springs
Southern Colorado democrats say they are “feeling the Bern”; coming out to support Bernie Sanders, that is.
Organizers held a rally Sunday in Acacia Park for the presidential hopeful from Vermont.
About 150 people showed up to the rally, and that’s not all. Volunteers for the Sanders campaign say they have already knocked on 45,000 doors in the Pikes Peak region.
Event organizer Sally Briggs says Valentine’s Day was the perfect occasion to come out and show their support, “We did some chants, and when they were leaving they were chanting his name. It’s just a heart thing for us. We’re just in love with him.”
Senator Sanders was not at today’s rally, but did attend the state’s annual Democratic Dinner Saturday night in Denver.
