Man in jail after being accused of bank robbery

A man is in jail, accused of robbing a bank Thursday.

An arrest affidavit shows that 55-year-old Wesley Willburn threatened to blow up a bank teller if she didn’t give him $200.

The document shows he escaped with almost $1,500.

This all happened at the U.S. Bank on Main Street in downtown Pueblo.

Police said Willburn didn’t have weapons on him.

Sgt. Eric Gonzales said that isn’t out of the ordinary.

“People only perceive that in movies, but we do have a number of robberies where people just walk in without masks or without a certain type of weapon. There is numerous different ways they approach that,” he said.

Witnesses told police that they had seen the man in the downtown area before.

Willburn is facing a felony aggravated assault charge.

His bond is set at $50,000.
