Female Army ranger speaks to local media for the first time
One of the first women to complete Army ranger school is stationed at Fort Carson, and on Wednesday, she talked to local media for the first time.
1st Lt. Shaye Haver says getting pushed to her physical and emotional limits has been worth it.
When asked how she feels to be back at Fort Carson, she said it’s good but her recent celebrity status makes day-to-day activities a challenge.
“Trying to get through and navigate through the PX or grab coffee in the morning has become a routine that I need an extra 30-45 minutes added on to,” she said.
Haver has also completed airborne school.
Haver says she hopes she gets the opportunity to deploy with her platoon.
