Colorado Spring firefighters rescue driver from burning mini-van

Colorado Springs firefighters may have saved a person’s life Wednesday night.

The driver of a mini-van was trapped and the engine was on fire. It happened after 7 p.m in the 1600 block of Constellation Drive on the South West side of the city.

Firefighters had to break the glass and insert a hose to extinguish the fire that was spreading from the engine. At the same time, the driver had to be extricated and carried 100 feet from a wooded area.

He’s in the hospital with unknown injuries.
