Boy, 6, found dead by Denver-area deputies responding to report of sex assault

Deputies responding to a report of a sexual assault in Arapahoe County found a little boy’s body inside of an apartment southeast of Denver Wednesday morning.

KMGH reports the 6-year-old was found dead at the Woodhaven Apartments at 7540 East Harvard Avenue.

Authorities say a woman called 911 from a neighbor’s apartment. She said she escaped after being sexually assaulted at knife-point by her boyfriend.

One of the responding deputies was hurt in a crash while en route. The deputy’s condition is critical but stable.

Once inside, police found the boy dead in a bedroom with a man, who appeared to have self-inflicted stab wounds.

A 2-year-old boy was found unharmed in a second bedroom.

Paramedics took the man, woman and 2-year-old to the hospital.
