Pueblo leaders want people to decide on combining governments
One government could be in Pueblo’s future.
Pueblo City Council discussed the possibility of combining the Pueblo city and county governments.
Councilman Bob Schilling and Commissioner Sal Pace want a ballot question asking voters if they want a consolidated government.
City Council surveyed more than 50 people in the crowd at the meeting and a majority of people said it would like to see a plan for combining the governments.
Schilling said it would give towns and districts in the county more representation. He also said there would be nine council members in the government with one mayor.
