#13StormAlert: Crews ask for patience with plow drivers
up… a warning from plow crews… give them some room. c-dot says we can’t show you this video enough… a truck driver weaving between two plows on i- 25. and if you think this is only happening on the interstate… think again. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller is live in colorado springs. greg… crews say … don’t assume anything. plow crews are focused on their job … not you. and they need you to give them some room … and take personal responsibility. susan hipp – lovingly refers to her volkwagon beatle by the name gertie. “i don’t even know where to begin” gertie hasn’t seen the light of day since last week. because when crews started clearing the roads – they buried her car. sot: can’t really go anywhere else. they alley parking, but it’s just as bad back there so she had to spend a lot of time unearthing gertie. greg: but at least she did… that’s not the case for everyone. even cars that made it out aren’t necessarily safe. here’s an example of what can happen. sot: i just came down i-25, there was a car infront of me that didn’t spend the time they should have, clearing their car off. and c- dot released this video of a truck weaving in between two plows. i would caution folks, those plows – a guy driving a truck is pushing a piece of iron in front of them, at the same time trying to put material out the back, focused on traffic, trying not to cover sidewalks, don’t assume those guys see you. as for susan.. and gertie, the dustoff may take a while… i just hope everybody north and east can get out. but at least she’s safe on the road. road crews will remain on ‘all call’ status for the rest of the evening, if not longer. again, they’re asking for patience as drivers go on the fifth day of navigating snowy roads. live in cs, gm, nc
