Suspicious package investigated in Pueblo

The Pueblo Police Department ordered people in the area of Minnequa Avenue and Oakland Avenue to shelter in place Friday afternoon while a suspicious package was investigated.

The package was found at around 1:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of Oakland Avenue, on the south side.

The bomb squad was called to determine if the package is dangerous.

It turns out the package contained a first aid kit and school supplies.

Police have cleared the scene.
