CHSAA sanctions lifted at PCHS, AD Mahan changes roles

CHSAA announced Friday they are lifting all restrictions on the Pine Creek High School Athletic Program after what Commissioner Paul Angelico is calling “Swift completion of a corrective action plan.”

Angelico also confirmed that Pine Creek athletes can now participate in post season play if they qualify.

Also on Friday, Pine Creek Athletic Director Matt Mahan will give up his post at the end of the school year, and will transition to a new position as Assistant Principal.

Mahan released a statement about the move, saying “I have decided to transition to the role of assistant principal and work more closely with instruction, assessment, and technology,”
“I will continue to work as the athletic director through the end of this school year,” said Mahan. “I have enjoyed my time serving as athletic director and will still be a part of Pine Creek athletics serving as an assistant principal.”
