Mom arrested after three young children found alone on street
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says three children, all under the age of two, were found alone near the Department of Corrections headquarters on S. Circle Drive. Thursday morning.
The sheriff’s office says deputies just happened to be in the area when they spotted the children on the street alone.
It took deputies several hours to find their mother.
In addition to three counts of child neglect, Soni Atencio is facing drug-related charges.
