Space Foundation gets a charge
Electric cars are gaining in popularity, but one of the biggest drawbacks has been how far they can go on a charge.
But now Tesla owners have a new option for charging their cars.
The Space Foundation introduced two new Tesla changers at its visitor center today.
The two chargers will be available 24 hours a day. Using the charger for one hour adds 60 miles to the Tesla’s range.
Space Foundation officials say that having the stations at the visitor center is part of their mission to look towards the future.
“It’s one of the first things they see when they pull in the parking lot and I think a good introduction to what they’ll see once they get inside the Discover Center,” said Kevin Cook.
Cook says that part of the appeal of Tesla to the foundation was founder Elon Musk’s interest in space exploration.
