Second teen who fell into icy Parker pond dies

A second teenager who was pulled from an icy pond in Parker has died.

The Denver Post reports that Max Gantnier died Monday. He and two other sophomores at Legend High School, Patric Lantz and Cole Robinson, fell through the ice on Jan. 14.

Lantz died the day of the accident after being in the pond for more than 35 minutes. Robinson was treated and released from the hospital.

A witness called 911 reporting that she saw someone struggling in the water. First responders quickly rescued two of the teens, but it took about 35 minutes to find Lantz.

The pond sits in a gulch that runs toward nearby Legend High School.
