Pueblo city reacts to storm water meeting

The Pueblo City Council is pushing for more than $530 million from Colorado Springs for stormwater projects.

The council unanimously passed a resolution Monday night in support of the county commissioners.

The commissioners want Colorado Springs to spend $19 million a year on a backlog of storm water projects.

“We’re just thinking it’s a little bit too little, a little bit too late, and that more money needs to be thrown at re-mediating and addressing all the storm water needs,” said Pueblo City Council President Steve Nawrocki.

Nawrocki says contamination from Colorado Springs in Fountain Creek is the biggest problem.
