Pueblo waitress accused of falsifying receipts to steal money from customers

A waitress at a Japanese restaurant in Pueblo is accused of helping herself to extra tip money by stealing from customers who paid with plastic.

Police say the owner of the Sushi Garden in the 3900 block of Ivywood Lane called them after discovering the alleged thefts.

Gloria Cerna, 38, is accused of falsifying the tip section of customer receipts to overcharge customers who paid with credit cards.

Cerna faces charges for forgery and theft.

Police say people who have recently dined at Sushi Garden should check their credit card statements and give the police a call if they notice any discrepancies.
