Police announce three arrests in string of El Paso County burglaries

The Colorado Springs Police Department says three people have been arrested in connection to a series of burglaries in the city and in El Paso County.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Monique Rael, 18, Katrina Abeyta, 20, and Nathaniel Gonzales, 22.

A fourth suspect, Gino Rael, 22, has not yet been arrested. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police say this investigation began during the first week of January when detectives noticed a pattern of residential burglaries. Jewelry, televisions and firearms were among the items stolen.

Six search warrants executed and police say $15,000 worth of stolen property was recovered. They say several hundred thousand dollars of property is still missing.

The Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating this case.
