Denver fire chief stabbed

The Denver Police Department says a woman jumped into the fire chief’s SUV and stabbed him Tuesday.

Fire Chief Eric Tade suffered minor injuries in the attack. Police say the woman who stabbed him was arrested. She has not been identified.

The stabbing happened near fire station number 1 at W. Colfax Avenue and Speer Boulevard.

Tade has been a firefighter for 24 years, including 20 years with the Denver Fire Department. He was appointed chief in 2010.

Police are still trying to determine the motive for the attack.
