Potholes taking over Pueblo West

Pueblo West road crews are in a battle with potholes in the district.

Public Works Director Dan Centa said crews have filled more than 350 potholes since mid-December and that’s only a portion of the problem.

He said the recent cold weather mixed with snow is making matters worse.

The director said every time crews fill holes, more snow falls and adds to their work.

Pueblo West resident Jack Carney said driving has been a challenge, but he’s starting to see improvements.

“Well, basically, potholes, there have been some, but lately, they seemed to have filled more than half of them, so it hasn’t been too bad,” he said.

Centa said the department is hoping money from the marijuana excise tax that was approved in November can improve the roads in the district.
