‘The Force’ strikes back against Von Miller

Broncos Linebacker Von Miller left practice early Wednesday because he was sick. Naturally – we assumed it was something serious.

“Mozzarella sticks,” said Miller when asked what made him sick. “You can’t put regular gas in a Ferrari.”

Miller blamed a deviation from his diet for the illness, one he said really taught him something.

“Just the fried cheese and the Icee at the movies,” said Miller. “I was contemplating it but it did me bad, I learned my lesson.”

See guys, even NFL players make mistakes when it comes to movie snacks! Was the movie, at least, worth it?

“I tried to go see [Star Wars: The Force Awakens], tried to sneak in there and go see it and … the force struck back,” said Miller.

Upon Miller’s return, he believes his team is ready to ‘strike back’ this year in the playoffs.

“Everybody’s in the moment, everybody knows the opportunity we have to do something special,” said Miller. “Everybody knows the type of team that we have – the special team that we have. We’re just going to take advantage of the opportunity.”

With Miller back at practice this Broncos team is as healthy as they’ve been all year. Now that they’re at full strength, the players believe their blend of youth and experience will create playoff success.

“Everybody in here has played in a playoff game so hopefully that experience takes over,” said Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Veteran Tackle Ryan Harris said the younger guys are picking up on that playoff sense of urgency.

“They don’t want to go home, they have friends around the league that are home already,” said Harris. “They want to be here as much as we do and that’s all we can ask of them.”

Both veterans and rookies agree – this team has the look of a champion.

“Everybody’s got that, you know, that ‘Eye of the Tiger,” said Defensive End Antonio Smith.
