Police say pup recovering from run-in with porcupine will need new home

The Parker Police Department says the new year came with a tough new lesson for Canello the Boxer mix; Don’t mess with porcupines.

Canello was first spotted running around on Christmas Eve. He was seen again in Douglas County on January 6. Finally, on January 7, a Parker Animal Control Officer was able to catch up with him.

Unfortunately for Canello, it was after he had a run-in with a porcupine.

Canello is currently recovering, but police say that when he’s better, he’s going to need a place to live.

Canello is one year and seven months old and is neutered.

Anyone who is interested in adopting him or helping with his medical needs is asked to contact the Buddy Center in Castle Rock at 303-751-5772.
