Suspect in murder of Pueblo teen arrested

The Pueblo Police Department says it has arrested a man who is accused of killing a 16-year-old last month.

Dominik Jaramillo was arrested at around 9 a.m. Wednesday after he was spotted walking on Highway 50 East near Pueblo County High School.

Jaramillo is suspected in the December 14 shooting death of Elijah Aguila, 16. The shooting happened at around 7 p.m. near Veta Avenue and Van Buren Street

Detectives said at least two large groups of people, some with gang ties, went to a park in the area to watch what was supposed to be a fist fight. The shooting happened when one of the groups arrived.

Jaramillo is being held at the Pueblo County Jail. He faces a first degree murder charge.
