Search for reported suicidal person forces schools into lockdown

Colorado Springs Police searched a south side neighborhood for a person who was reported to be suicidal and armed with a gun Wednesday.

The search started in the 1200 block of Florence Avenue and had spread out over a wide area of the surrounding neighborhood.

Schools in the area were locked down as a precaution.

Police say they know who the man is and they do not believe he is a threat to the community. Because of that, they have stopped looking for him and the school lockdowns will be lifted.
