Citadel Mall reopens after shooting; shoppers return

The Citadel Mall is back open following a shooting that injured two people in Colorado Springs.

It happened Saturday night, outside the mall’s entrance in front of Hooters restaurant.

Some shoppers are still rattled by the violence, but others continued to shop on Sunday, say it’s not stopping them from visiting the mall.

“A lot of people think it’s a ghetto mall. I don’t think it is. The Citadel’s been here forever and I don’t think there’s anything unsafe about this area,” said Ray Palma, shopper.

“I always feel safe. I love the mall. It’s not going to stop me because they had a shooting,” added shopper Mario Brown.

“You can’t live in fear, you gotta keep living,” said Silvino Castillo.

One man and one woman were taken to the hospital in connection with the shooting. Both had non-life threatening injuries.
