Homeowner creates special delivery for thief

A Colorado Springs man is fighting back against thieves.

After multiple reports of packages being stolen during the holiday season, he decided to leave a special delivery, tailor-made for a thief.

He left a package on his doorstep and it was stolen within a day. He caught the thief on camera, but instead of valuable items inside, the package contained something a little more foul.

“I’ve had some things stolen from the front porch, something as simple as a sign on my door, a flower pot, nobody’s got time for that,” said Brian Grablin.

So he bought a security camera to record everything that happened outside. That’s when he started to wonder about his surroundings.

“Would someone actually steal something off my front porch in this neighborhood?” he said.

He bought the camera just two days ago. The doorbell and security camera are mounted together and he can access the camera’s view any time.

“And the same day I installed it, I put that box together. A gallon of water, some cat poop,” he said. He added a letter addressed to the thief.

“I really was concerned when I looked this morning and saw the package was gone. And I had an alert, scrolled back to 5 in the morning,” he said.

The whole incident was caught on his camera.

“You see him getting out, running forward, you can see him taking the box,” he said.

The surveillance video even shows the thief covering his head so he would be harder to identify.

“I would’ve loved to have seen their face when they opened it up,” he said.

Grablin and his cat seem to have made their message clear.

“Bottom line, you’re a bad person, you should change your ways now,” he said.
